A search revealed that while TED has popped up a few times, it has no thread of its own here, when it seems to me quite deserving of such. Not sure of the section, please redirect if necessary.
Some of you may know of
www.ted.com, but if you don't, I think you should take a look. I'm sure the sort of people on this forum will be appreciative of TED's ideals. They have videos of lectures in various fields, mostly scientific, environmental and humanist, but always interesting.
Some examples:
http://www.ted.com/talks/aubrey_de_grey_sa...void_aging.htmlAubrey de Grey talks about ending aging, both how and why.
www.ted.com/talks/boaz_almog_levitates_a_superconductor.htmlThis guy shows off quantum levitation.
www.ted.com/talks/hans_rosling_at_state.htmlHans Rosling and his eye-popping statistics.
http://www.ted.com/talks/ramesh_raskar_a_c...per_second.htmlFilming particles of light in motion.
There is, of course, a rather large archive of stuff, I recommend you go exploring. Also, post your favourite talks, maybe?
