Lemurs are far more threatened than previously thought

You get lemurs in Madagascar. Lots of kinds of lemurs and you don't get them anywhere else. You get hardwood including ebony in Madagascar. The average wage in Madagascar is $2 a day. Big logging companies like to work in Madagascar and they don't much care about the environment. It has been shown that even big international companies take rare woods logged in madagascar to make fancy guitar heads and beds and stuff for the rich.

Lemurs are adorable. They are going to die out if this goes on. Normally one thinks that things with big eyes facing front are safer than less appealing creatures: but not in this case.

Not sure if there is anything that can be done about this: but I don't want to live in a world without lemurs :(
