It is reported that a representative of the Egyptian government has gone on state television and said something which is along the lines of

"They suppress protest in the west, so why can't we?"

QUOTE
Kamal Subhi, a former professor at the conservative King Fahd University who contributed to the report, describes sitting in a coffee shop in an unidentified Arab state where, he said, “all the women were looking at me.”

“One made a gesture that made it clear that she was available,” he added. “This is what happens when women are allowed to drive.”

Who thinks he is kidding himself on?

For balance I thought I would mention that there is a move in Israel to ban women from singing because it is "too sexual for men to hear". We are not to think those who seek to impose this are unreasonable: one is reported as saying he has no problem with women singing to other women, but he has a problem with men hearing women sing because the rabbi tells men to refrain from temptation. Nice.

It is strange how all of these nutters immediately think of controlling other people's behaviour as a way of "refraining" from temptation. Wouldn't ear plugs do the job, if they are that concerned? I am tempted to believe they are not really trying....

Mr Strauss Kahn has an unworldly air, akin that of the Saudi cleric mentioned above. Apparently Mr Kahn has been going to orgies. He does not deny this, nor that he had sex with the women. But he did not know they were prosititutes. He seems to be another of those who has to carry a stick about with him to beat off the hordes of lustful women: I wouldn't be surprised if some of them can drive, either!

Tee hee: belatedly watched Rupert Murdoch at Leveson today. Best bit was when he was telling them that he has been besieged by journalists and papparazzi. Apparently he doesn't like it. In fact he said a person so besieged is "under duress". He did not seem to understand why this would make folk laugh :D

Our economy is in a bad way and the poor are getting poorer. But never fear: Michael Gove has a cunning plan. This week he sent bibles to every state school in the country. Now the children can pray that the building doesn't fall down around them and the teachers can pray they don't starve in old age. Genius!!

What is this headmaster referring to? Has Clegg been planning the economy? Is he leading the proletariat to its own revolutionary dictatorship? Naughty naughty!

He proposed some limited positive discrimination for university entry for those who attend state schools. Like I said, it is silly: but it is also communism, apparently

Cable's offence was to oppose a proposal to remove all employment rights, as is done in some American states: that makes him a socialist, apparently.
