Last night :(.

I got a standing ticket for the transatlantic sessions and it was brilliant! I had linked to the tv thing above so I won't reiterate the house band: it is pretty much unchanged, and that is the way I like it :D

But someone called Raul Malo was one of the guests and I did not know him before. He has a wonderful voice and I get the impression he is fairly eclectic in his material because he sang a standard ballad (Around the world) and a Hank Williams song (Hey good looking) These are not what I would choose but he also sang some songs I do not know: soppy songs which I really liked, actually.

This is one of them

As I said, I have a DVD of previous transatlantic sessions. So while I am on the subject I will post this as a tribute to John Martyn. He was a great singer and writer, but like so many scots he died young because "the whisky stole the light". John Martyn could be an unreliable bastard, but on form he could break your heart.

This is from the second series of the transatlantic sessions, with Eddi Reader.
