Tonight I went to see Fred Morrison. He is a piper but he fuses with blue grass. He was playing with his usual people: Martin O'Neill and Mattheu Watson but also had Ron Block on banjo and the legendary Tim O'Brien.
The second half was Donal Lunny, Andy Irvine, Liam O'Flynn and Paddy Glackin. These are veteran musicians and they are all so good and so relaxed about it: it is always a real pleasure to see them. Shame Christy Moore wasn't there but you can't have everything: Bruce Molsky did join them for one song so can't complain
