I am posting this because it is the funniest thing I have read this week and it is already Saturday.

Do please feel free to post stuff you come across which has a similar effect on you :)

This was reported today on one of those "famous quotes" type programmes and it made me laugh and admire at the same time

Someone called Beryl Reid is said to have been in a crowd at a party or reception or something. It happened that some moron groped her. Her response is ideal: it seems she grabbed the offending hand by the wrist and pulled it round to the front: then loudly said "Does this belong to someone? I just found it on my arse"

The pressure to make public service more like the private sector is something which annoys and frustrates me: so it is well to remember that it can at least give you a laugh from time to time, throught the sheer idiocy of the idea: and today it did.

An NHS hospital has a website and presumably because of the perception that everything the private sector does is admirable it has a "customer endorsement" section: like a hotel or something. I assume that someone was taking the piss in including that:but maybe not. I have found that many of these corporate types have neither imagination nor humour, so it is just possible that the following endorsement was not recognised as mocking the very idea.

Anyway someone included this:

"This hospital saved my life. I would recommend it "

:D

That is because he is a lying, hypocritical, tory patrician with a great line in "do as is say not as I do, oik"

Happy the land that has such leaders :)

I know I shouldn't laugh: but there comes a point when hubris is irresistably funny

I was digging about trying to understand economics when I realised I am wasting my time: this guy has already explained it all :D

I don't know whether to feel better or worse about the world after those links, Fiona, but I laughed, so who cares!
