This is a report of a club in the centre of Glasgow which installed a two-way mirror in the women's toilet. A booth on the other side could be rented for purposes of observing the women. The company says that there were signs advising the women it was there: complainants say there were no such warnings and the licensing officials did not see them when they inspected the club.

The licensing authority closed the club for 7 days with immediate effect, and the company has asked for the right to open while it appeals the decision. The police are still looking in to the matter.

What I found particularly obnoxious was the grounds on which the action was taken. It seems like this is not enough in itself. They have argued that it puts people at risk of "inappropriate or predatory behaviour" and that is not good "in an environment where alcohol is consumed". So it is ok in a tee total establishment is it?

Here's a clue: it is not all right to spy on people in the toilet even if you signed the pledge and spend all day Sunday doing good works for disadvantaged kittens. There is no need to point to worse consequences or bring in the fact that the club also runs underage discos, so younger people could be at risk. THE RISK IS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!

What part of this is difficult to understand?
